Non for Profit to inform teens about Skin Cancer Prevention

Alison Bunch, Founder and Owner of Tan Envy, starts Non for Profit to inform teens about Skin Cancer Prevention

With the recent rise in skin cancer, Alison Bunch, has taken it upon herself to start a Non for Profit called the Safe Tanning Association.  The Safe Tanning Association focuses their efforts on educating young adults on the damaging effects of UV rays.

Alison is passionate about her message, being the founder and chief advocate for Tan Envy, LLC., a sunless tanning company.  As an avid tanner during her teenage and college years, Alison was starting to see the ugly sunspots and wrinkles that came from all of those years of tanning.  After seeing an ultraviolet light photo of her skin, a very scary experience, she knew her UV tanning days were over.   She wanted to keep a bronzed appearance without worrying about damaging her skin any further and started spray tanning.  At this point in her life, she also wanted a career that had flexible hours and allowed her to be home, spending time with her son.  As an aspiring entrepreneur, she was getting an idea for a business that really resonated with her own interests and that would allow her to empower other women.  Tan Envy, LLC. was beginning to form.

Alison knew she could offer spray tanning to others and started spray tanning her friends and family.  Other women liked what the way she looked and her business idea.  So, what started out as a way for Alison to keep a healthy bronze glow and make some money on the side… turned into a lucrative business that now encourages women throughout the country – to spread the Tan Envy glow.

The business grew very quickly, with locations in 24 states within one year.  Many independent distributors started their Tan Envy business as a part-time effort, but have now quit-full time job and are primarily spray tanning and selling opportunities to others.

Alison grew up near Pittsburgh as a runner.  She still participates in The Race for the Cure as part of her continuing support of causes that help women avoid and survive cancer.  After working and living in New York City and Australia, she settled in Columbus, Ohio, with her husband, Daryl and son, Devon

She will continue to help others create Sunless Tanning business opportunities through Tan Envy, while further developing The Safe Tanning Association.  Her goal is to educate young men and women so they don’t do to their skin what she did to hers.
